What is a prosthodontist?

Prosthodontics is one of nine recognized specialties by the American dental association.

To become a prosthodontist, Dentists must complete additional three years of training after dental school at an accredited specialty program, to become experts in dental rehabilitation. Prosthodontists master many procedures including porcelain veneers, dental implants, and crowns and bridges. Their extensive training includes reviews of the literature, lectures, treatment of patients and laboratory experience in fabricating restorations.
